Promoter Information

Venue Rent
$7,500.00 or 12% of net ticket sales, whichever is greater, per day. Additional rental day charge for move-in days. All staffing and expenses are additional charges.

Equipment Rental Fee
Provided upon request.

Ticketmaster Services
Tickets for all Canad Inns Stadium events are sold exclusively through Ticketmaster ticket outlets, venue ticket office and via the Internet at www.ticketmaster.ca

“Net Ticket Sales”
Defined as “the net amount paid for tickets, admission or any rights to admissions after deducting only any applicable federal, provincial, or entertainment taxes. Net receipts shall be determined irrespective of whether paid in cash or otherwise and irrespective of the failure of the holder of any admission ticket to use the same.”

Deposits
First-time promoters are required to forward a non-refundable deposit of $3,500.00 within seven (7) working days of placing a tentative date. Deposit will be applied to rental fee. Cheques to be made payable to the “Winnipeg Football Club.”

References
First-time venue users to provide letters of reference from three past event site locations and/or business references.

Insurance
To provide, six weeks prior to this event, the Lessor with a certificate of insurance, evidencing comprehensive general public liability insurance, at a minimum of $5 million. Such policy to name as additional insured for this event only, the Winnipeg Football Club and the City of Winnipeg.

The insurance coverage shall not apply to any claims arising or resulting from the use of the facility which are the negligence or acts or omissions of the Lessor; its employees, contractors, representatives, agents or assigns. Accordingly, the Lessor hereby indemnifies and holds harmless the Lessee, its officers, directors, employees, independent contractors, participants, agents, representatives, or assigns from any and all liability bodily injury, property damage or personal injury resulting there from. The foregoing is not intended to and does not relieve the Lessee from liability for bodily injury, property damage or personal injury resulting from their negligence or the acts or omissions of their employees, contracts, representatives, agents or assigns, contributing or otherwise.

Artist Contracts
First-time promoters must provide signed artists contracts prior to tickets being placed on sale.

Venue Contract
Signed building contract must be received prior to tickets being placed on sale.

Merchandise
Venue to vend all merchandise. Merchandise Split is 35/65 (Venue/Promoter)

Catering
Centerplate is the exclusive caterer at Canad Inns Stadium.

Staffing
Venue to schedule and Promoter to pay all staff including ushers, security, gate staff, police, stage hands, and medical. Current staffing rates provided upon request.

Entertainment Tax
A 10% tax is charged by the City of Winnipeg on net ticket sales in all entertainment venues with a capacity of 5,000 or greater. Tax is collected by the venue for remittance to the City.

In-House Ad Agency
The Canad Inns Stadium in-house advertising agency provides a wide range of media/advertising services for all events and promoters. Our staff has extensive experience in media planning and buying, creative services, sponsorship sales, promotions, publicity and public relations. This experience has allowed us to form marketing partnerships with several local entities which allows us to implement comprehensive marketing plans and strategies. We also have an in-house studio capable of handling all your electronic advertising needs.

Each event booked at the Canad Inn Stadium receives significant exposure through existing facility mediums. The following resources are available to most events:

  • A full-color LED video marquee outside the Canad Inn Stadium
  • 1 LED video scoreboard at Canad Inns Stadium
  • 4 black and white reader boards in the arena at Canad Inns Stadium
  • 61 TV monitors on the concourse at Canad Inns Stadium
  • 48 TV monitors in the VIP suites at Canad Inns Stadium
  • Event photo/logo window wrap on front of Canad Inns Stadium
  • 1 black and white marquee at Canad Inns Stadium
  • 39 TV monitors on the concourse at Canad Inns Stadium
  • Over 75 TV monitors in the Tower at Canad Inns Stadium
  • Event listing on websites “Blue Notes”
  • Event listing on the Canad Inns Stadium Ticket Office menu dial
  • Press release announcing events mailed and faxed to major Winnipeg media and posted on Canad Inns Stadium website. Other press releases are completed as needed.

Additional services such as media placement and graphic design are also available. All services and activities involving fees are negotiable. The electronic media recognize the Canad Inns Stadium’s agency status and offer standard 15% commissionable rates. Print rates are quoted on request. Proposals for advertising and promotion campaigns are developed upon request. Due to the affiliation with Winnipeg Football Club, the Canad Inns Stadium enjoys many specialty rates and discounts and encourages promoters to investigate this alternative to placing direct.

The Canad Inns Stadium’s in-house agency also offers:

  • Photography
  • Coordination of promotional tickets and passes
  • Coordination of press conferences, interviews, etc.
  • Promotional events planning
  • Media and market research
  • Full creative services, including logo, ad, flyer, poster, and ticket design.

All agency fees, unless requested, are due at event settlement. All affidavits, tear sheets and other documentation are presented at settlement.

Multi-Media
Create and direct all entertainment, informational, advertising, and promotional videos and still graphics on the Canad Inns Stadium Jumbotron and in-house video monitors for most events at the arena, including basketball, concerts, and the National Finals Rodeo to name a few.
